New Process for Monthly Membership Reporting Effective April 2008

Beginning in April 2008, there will be a change in the submission dates for clubs to report their monthly membership reports (MMRs). The reports are filed for the current month during that month not the next month as in the past!

If you file online, the report for April is due by the end of the month. If you file a paper report, the report is due by 20th of the month.  Read more.

Don’t Throw Away Your Tax-Exempt Status!
Beginning in 2008, small tax-exempt organizations will have a new filing
requirement. It’s short, easy and electronic – it’s the new e-Postcard.
If you are a tax-exempt organization that normally has annual gross receipts of
$25,000 or less and does not have to file Form 990 or 990-EZ, you must file the
e-Postcard. The e-Postcard is due by the 15th day of the fifth month after the
close of your tax year. So if your organization operates on a calendar year, the
e-Postcard is due by May 15 of the following year.
What happens if you don’t file? You risk losing your tax-exempt status!

NEW LCI Vision Statement and Revised Mission Statement

At the International Board of Directors Meetings, September 27 through October 1, in New Delhi, India, the Board adopted a NEW Vision Statement and a revised Mission Statement for LCI that read as follows:

LCI Vision Statement:  “To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.”

LCI Mission Statement:  “To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.”
