Besides experiencing the satisfaction of helping others, Lions often find that they learn more about themselves and how to interact more effectively with others. Here's some ways to gain this valuable training:

  • One of the best ways to gain Leadership education covering all MERL and other personal development areas is to attend the yearly week-long USA/Canada Forums.  Scholarships are available through your District Governor; all you provide is the transportation!  If you can't attend, the Proceedings Books offer a wealth of information from the presenters' articles. Because of their size, we can't offer them as complete downloads here.

  • MD-29 offers its own week end Leadership School with inspiring presenters from around the country and state plus motivational and informative speakers at each meal. The cost is very reasonable (around $100), and District Governors offer scholarships.

  • A note to Club Officers from Lion Bob Moffett, 29-L Leadership Chair: All of the materials that you used to received in the mail before, such as the Club Officers Manual, are still available through the LCI website at Club Resources Web Area From there, it is a simple matter to download the "Club Officers Manual," "Lions Club Constitution and By-Laws," and a host of additional Lions information. Even the "Healthy Club Toolbox" is available at the click of a mouse. The materials available relate to membership, extension, leadership and retention -- it's all there. LCI has done a magnificent job in making these materials immediately available to all Lions without waiting for delivery through the mail or incurring shipping costs.

  • LCI also provides online Leadership Learning Center, Training Materials, and Leadership Development on their Training Area The Learning Center e-courses are very well done, interesting, and can be taken in your spare time. Perhaps the club member with the high-speed internet can host your next Leadership Training meeting to share this wealth of information.
